Review for legere reeds. I just got my Legere 2.75 alto sax reed in today, my first synthetic reed. It really surprised me. It is very free blowing, but mabye because its a little soft to my liking. The sound got a little spread after a few minutes, but it was a focused sound. Again the spreading is probably because a thin reed.

I'm guessing you're referring to his sound on alto. He uses a Couf 4 with 2.5 Rico reeds. This has been his setup for 20+ years. He reveals this info on his DVD - Sound Production for Saxophone. If I had his sound on alto, I wouldn't change it either. And, I'd play more alto.

There is a small key, under the alternate high F (fork F) key, above the B key. C# is the only note where that key is open. (Except for the high register palm key notes.) @reeddoubler called this out, if this key has an unhooked spring, you can hook it back up. If the spring is broken, you need a tech.

The Z in my opinion blew the SX90R and the Mark VI away. The Z is on top for resonance and projection. It actually sounds like an amplified horn.
